DUBLIN, NEW HAMPSHIRE, USA — Desktop Engineering (deskeng.com) announces that progeCAD USA’s (Clackamas, OR) general-purpose, AutoCAD-like 2D and 3D design application progeCAD 2010 Professional was selected as its Editor’s Pick of the Week for September 1, 2010.
“progeCAD Professional is an AutoCAD-like application. It can handle DWG files easily and that it offers commands, interfaces, ‘feel,’ and functionality that should make it readily accessible to seasoned AutoCAD users,” says Anthony J. Lockwood, editor at large for Desktop Engineering. “It’s a low-cost, general-purpose 2D and 3D design CAD system appropriate for concept sketches to MCAD layout.”
“The pitch that progeCAD USA uses is that progeCAD is an AutoCAD-like application at far less cost,” explains Lockwood. “That’s true as far as I can tell. But I actually think that progeCAD is a productivity enhancement system.”
“Its cost enables you to spread AutoCAD-like functionality around your company relatively inexpensively,” concludes Lockwood. “The hour here, the day there it can save you could return your investment in no time flat and that effect can be the one little thing that gets you to market more quickly.”Read the complete Editor’s Pick of the Week at “Low-Cost CAD System Improved.”

progeSOFT Announces 2006 World Distribution Plan for progeCAD
After becoming one of most visible CAD suppliers in Italy and Europe, progeCAD is expanding their sales and support activity throughout the world
Como, IT (PRWEB) June 29, 2006 — ProgeSOFT plans include distributors in most of the major countries, and a large network of local dealers during 2006, able to provide CAD users with low-cost CAD software.
As DWG spreads as the leading CAD drawing format standard, the high price of DWG based software represents a limit for its adoption by all the various people involved in a project’s development within industry.
Individual designers, small business companies, and outsourcing suppliers have to deal with the problem of investment in CAD systems, and this sometimes encourages piracy behaviors. This opens a very good opportunity for legitimate licensing of a low cost alternative DWG CAD system, progeCAD 2006 Professional.
progeCAD has more than 50.000 users all over the world. As vendors in the CAD market push their users on an advanced 3D approach, many CAD users do not need the sophisticated 3D functions, or wish to pay the high costs associated with these types of tools. Their only requirement is real and stable DWG software to do their job and exchange drawings with others. For all these people, progeCAD is the right choice.
progeCAD is based on IntelliCAD 6 CAD engine, and is compatible with all main CAD systems thanks to DWG/DXF support, from version 2.5 to version 2006 (support for DWG 2007 is coming soon).
Besides supporting all of the IntelliCAD functionality, it has many unique features which can easily be used by designers, especially those users that use AutoCAD®.
progeCAD is also ready for customization, thanks to the free available Distribution Kit,dealers and distributors can put their name, logo, website address and buy now link on trial versions.
